One Road. One Guyana. Road Safety is Everyone's Responsibility.

Our nation’s roads are more than just pathways; they are lifelines that unite us as One Guyana. They connect families, communities, and regions, fueling our collective progress and shared dreams. However, with this privilege comes the responsibility to ensure that these roads remain safe for all. The theme “One Road. One Guyana. Road Safety is Everyone's Responsibility” underscores the collective effort needed to make our roadways a safe space for all users. Every life lost or impacted by road accidents is a tragedy that robs our nation of its potential, and it is our duty to work together to prevent these losses.

Road safety is a shared responsibility that transcends all barriers—age, gender, or social status. Whether we walk, cycle, ride, or drive, we must act with care, patience, and respect for others on the road. Simple actions, like adhering to speed limits, wearing seat belts and helmets, and avoiding distractions such as mobile phones, can make a monumental difference. As citizens, let us educate ourselves and others about the importance of road safety and hold each other accountable. Together, we can create a culture where every road user values life and embraces their role in ensuring the safety of others.

Let us reaffirm our commitment to the vision of One Guyana, where unity and shared responsibility guide our actions. The Government, alongside the Road Safety Council, will continue to invest in road infrastructure, public education, and enforcement of safety measures to build safer roads for everyone. I call on all Guyanese to take this message to heart: road safety begins with you. By working together, we can save lives, protect families, and build a brighter future on the foundation of safe and harmonious roads.
